Artist's Description
We were attending a geology talk on the rim of the Grand Canyon when this rainbow popped up after a short storm. We were there in the fall when the weather can change from summer to winter in a matter of seconds. Priceless experience! The Grand Canyon is like nowhere else on earth, so to see this rainbow over this truly colorful and remarkable place...well an experience like no other for a photographer. Located in Arizona, according to the National Park Service, Grand Canyon National Park encompasses 277 miles (446 km) of the Colorado River and adjacent uplands. The park is home to much of the immense Grand Canyon; a mile (1.6 km) deep, and up to 18 miles (29 km) wide. Layered bands of colorful rock reveal millions of years of geologic history can all be viewed in one place.
