Description
The Herlong Mansion dates to the nineteenth century. It is well-cared for and has been operating as a bed and breakfast since the 1980s. It really is the prettiest building on the main street in Micanopy. Micanopy is the oldest continuously inhabited town in Florida. Many well-known folks have visited. It was visited by Hernando DeSoto (16th century), and the naturalist, William Bartram (18th century). Prior to the Europeans settling here, the Seminoles had a large settlement.
