Description
Sunrise in late spring and early summer is the time for feeding in this local park. Close to the Coast this pond is home to fish, crayfish and turtles. Food for flocks of Florida wading birds, such as this Great Blue Heron. Sunrise brings this lovely blue hour for photography.Largest of the North American herons with long legs, a sinuous neck, and thick, daggerlike bill. Head, chest, and wing plumes give a shaggy appearance. In flight, the Great Blue Heron curls its neck into a tight āSā shape; its wings are broad and rounded and its legs trail well beyond the tail.
