Description
Most Florida wading birds start out life a different color than they end up as adults. White ibises start out a fairly dark brown then lighten up with time, becoming white. They usually leave the nest full grown, but as a kind of mottled brown. Ibises only have a few eggs. The ibis flock seems to know to protect these young birds as they graze for insects and small water creatures.
